Stella Maris on a Clasp

Stella Maris on a Clasp

20.00

This unusual, highly detailed medal is lovely to look at. The front of the medal depicts the Blessed Virgin with the title Stella Maris, which means: Star of the Sea.  The words are: Ora Pro Nobis, which means Pray for Us. The reverse of the medal has the image of an anchor and the shining star with the words: Respice Ellam Voca Mariam. In the book titled: Paschasius Radbertus a reference to Mary as Star of the Sea was written:    Mary, Star of the Sea, must be followed in faith and morals lest we capsize amidst the storm-tossed waves of the sea. She will illumine us to believe in Christ, born of her for the salvation of the world.
